Rockstar Games’ much-anticipated Grand Theft Auto VI may face another delay, according to a fresh leak. While the game was earlier scheduled for release in May 2026, a well-known industry insider now suggests that the launch could be pushed back by four more months to September 2026.
September 2026 release now likely
The revised timeline comes from gaming leaker “Millie A,” who has a mixed but notable record of accurate predictions within the industry. According to her latest claims, internal discussions at Rockstar Games have raised the possibility of shifting the GTA VI release window from May to September 2026. The company had previously delayed the game from an initial fall 2025 launch to May 2026. Rockstar Games has yet to make an official statement regarding the leak.
Speculation around pricing and editions
In addition to the delay, there are reports that GTA VI could launch with a tiered pricing model. According to the same leak, the standard edition may be priced at $69.99, while a deluxe version could be offered at $89.99, possibly including early access to GTA Online. A premium edition is also expected, priced at $109.99, potentially bundling exclusive content and online benefits. This model follows a wider trend in the industry that encourages higher spending for early access and bonus features.
Commercial expectations remain high
Despite shifting timelines, industry projections continue to reflect confidence in the game’s commercial potential. According to estimates from Konvoy, GTA VI could generate $7.6 billion in revenue within the first two months of release. The figure would easily cover its rumoured $2 billion development budget and cement its position as one of the most impactful game launches in history.
Despite all the leaks and rumours, we advise you to take this with a pinch of salt as Rockstar Games has not yet confirmed anything officially. Until, things become official, it will be wise to believe that the GTA VI will arrive in May 2026 as announced by the developer.
