Grand Theft Auto VI (GTA 6) is officially set to launch in fall 2025, according to Take-Two Interactive. This places its expected release between September and November. Given the industry’s competitive landscape, analysts predict Rockstar Games may schedule the launch for late October or November, steering clear of Borderlands 4, which arrives on September 23, 2025.
Gameplay and new features
The first GTA 6 trailer confirmed the game’s return to Vice City, set in the fictional state of Leonida, inspired by Florida. The game introduces dual protagonists, Jason and Lucia, breaking away from the single-lead structure seen in some previous entries. Leaks hint at an expansive open world, more interactive environments, and enhanced AI mechanics, making NPCs react more naturally to in-game events. The game is also expected to feature realistic vehicle physics, dynamic weather changes, and a revamped law enforcement system.
Pre-order updates
While Rockstar Games has yet to announce pre-order availability, Malaysian retailer Gamers Hideout has already started accepting deposits, requiring an RM14.90 (around Rs 290) placeholder fee. Historically, Rockstar opens official pre-orders closer to launch, so fans are advised to wait for confirmation before making any commitments.
Pricing speculation
Industry insiders suggest that GTA 6 may be priced above $100, exceeding the usual cost of AAA games. The higher price is reportedly due to the game’s extensive development scale. In India, projections estimate the base edition may cost around Rs 5,999, while special editions could reach Rs 7,299 or more. However, final pricing details will be disclosed by Rockstar closer to launch.
