Google Play Store to soon get Download Manager: How it works and all other details

The Google Play Store is the go-to destination for downloading, installing, or updating Android applications. The company also keeps making incremental updates to the Play Store to provide a better user experience. According to a new report by Android Authority via Assemble Debug, Google is working on a Download Manager feature for the Play Store, which will help users keep track of the apps they’ve recently downloaded but haven’t opened yet.

It will appear automatically once the installation of an app has been triggered. This feature is spotted in the Play Store version 42.9.16-31 by Assemble Debug and contains several strings referencing the Download Manager. Moreover, users can manage multiple downloads with this feature, allowing them to pause individual apps or move them up or down the priority list.

However, unlike traditional download managers, which allow users to pause and resume downloads, the Download Manager may not allow you to do the same. We can expect this feature to be introduced with the later updates on the Google Play Store as it could be really beneficial for people with limited data plans.

The Download Manager feature is not currently available in the Google Play Store, and Google has yet to officially announce its availability. However, we can expect to see it go live soon, and it should be available for the public sooner rather than later.
