Google has officially launched Veo 3, its latest AI video generation model, in India. The announcement follows Veo 3’s initial debut at Google I/O 2025 and is part of a broader global rollout through the Google AI Pro subscription on the Gemini app.
Veo 3 enables users to generate short, high-quality videos up to 8 seconds long using text or photo prompts. With the new rollout, Indian users now have access to the same AI video tools that have driven viral content across platforms over the past few weeks.
Veo 3 stands out with its ability to add sound and music to AI-generated visuals. Users can generate scenes with synthesized characters, background sound effects, and voice-enabled narratives. This allows for more immersive and realistic video experiences.
The tool also supports video creation from user-uploaded images, and these videos feature both visible and invisible watermarks. Each video carries a visible “AI-generated” mark and an invisible SynthID digital watermark developed by Google DeepMind. This dual marking system helps reinforce transparency and authenticity.
Availability in India
Veo 3 is now available in India via the Gemini app, but access is limited to users subscribed to the Google AI Pro plan. This subscription also offers other Gemini AI tools across devices, including advanced text and image generation.
With the launch, Indian creators, educators, marketers, and developers now have the ability to produce fast, creative video content without professional equipment or editing expertise.
Responsible rollout
Google says it is prioritising safety and responsibility in Veo 3’s deployment. This includes extensive testing, internal red teaming, and clear policy enforcement to prevent harmful or misleading content. The company also encourages users to provide feedback through thumbs up/down buttons within the app to help improve the tool over time.
