Google has officially announced the dates for its annual developer conference, Google I/O 2025. The event will take place at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California, on May 20 and May 21.
The event will provide a platform for Google to showcase its latest advancements in various technology sectors, including artificial intelligence, Android, web, and cloud technologies.
“Join us live on May 20 and 21 from Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View and online at io.google. At I/O, you’ll learn more about Google’s newest products, technologies, and innovations in AI, Android and more,” said Google in a blog post.
The announcement comes earlier than usual, with invitations being sent out to developers and tech enthusiasts around the world.
This year's conference is expected to focus heavily on artificial intelligence, with potential announcements around the next iteration of Android, Android 16, and advancements in Google's AI chatbots and generative tools. Additionally, there may be updates on Wear OS, Google Maps, and other services within Google's ecosystem.
The event will kick off on May 20th with the Google Keynote — delivered by CEO Sundar Pichai — followed by the Developer Keynote. The event will feature various sessions, product demos, and Q&A stations, providing attendees with a deeper dive into Google's latest technologies. “We’ll start day one with keynotes, followed by breakout sessions, workshops, demos, networking opportunities and more continuing on day two,” said Google.
Interestingly, this year’s I/O event clashes with Microsoft’s Build, which is an event focused for developers. Microsoft is also expected to announce its AI advancements at Build, which starts from May 19 and ends on May 22.
