After introducing it in 2024 for Android devices, Google is now bringing Circle to Search to Chrome and the Google app on iOS for iPhones. However, the tech giant is instead naming this feature ‘Search Screen with Google Lens’ and it will show up as an option in the three-dot menu in both Chrome for iOS and the Google app for iOS.
Google’s ‘Search Screen with Google Lens’ introduced for iPhonesGoogle has confirmed to streamline the Search Screen process in the coming months by adding a dedicated Lens icon to the Google Chrome’s address bar for mobile devices, similar to the desktop Chrome implementation launched last year. The Google app for iOS is also getting similar functionality.
The ‘Search Screen with Google Lens’ feature will allow iOS users to initiate screen searches by tapping the three-dot menu and selecting ‘Search this Screen.’ The feature supports various interaction methods, including drawing, highlighting, or tapping to select content for visual searches while browsing articles, shopping, or watching videos.
The feature is set to roll out this week and will be available for both the Chrome app and Google app on the iPhone. Additionally, Google is improving its AI Overviews feature, which provides quick summaries at the top of search results. With this addition, AI Overview will be able to provide helpful links in Google Lens searches even without extra text or questions.
