Gigabyte has announced the launch of the Aorus GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card at CES 2026. The new flagship GPU expands the company’s Aorus lineup and is positioned around next-generation gaming, AI workloads, and creator-focused performance. The announcement highlights a redesigned cooling system, a compact form factor, and support for Nvidia’s latest GPU architecture.

Architecture and performance

The Aorus GeForce RTX 5090 is based on Nvidia’s Blackwell architecture and is part of the GeForce RTX 50 series. According to Gigabyte, the new architecture is designed to deliver higher AI compute capability and improved graphics performance compared to the previous generation. The card supports features such as DLSS 4 and Nvidia Studio, targeting users involved in gaming, real-time rendering, and AI-assisted creative workflows. Gigabyte says the RTX 5090 is aimed at users who require sustained performance under demanding workloads, including high-resolution gaming and AI applications.

Cooling and design

A key highlight of the Aorus GeForce RTX 5090 is the new WINDFORCE HYPERBURST Cooling System. The design uses a separated PCB layout and a Double Flow Through structure to allow airflow on both sides of the backplate. Gigabyte has also added an additional overdrive fan that activates during intensive workloads to maintain thermal stability. Despite the focus on cooling, the card maintains a compact footprint, measuring around 33 cm in length and 14.5 cm in height, which Gigabyte says improves compatibility with a wider range of PC cases. The card features a circular design, a die-cast metal plate, and RGB Halo lighting as part of the Aorus branding.

Positioning and availability

Gigabyte has positioned the Aorus GeForce RTX 5090 as a premium graphics card for enthusiasts, gamers, and creators looking to adopt next-generation GPU capabilities. The company showcased the product at its booth during CES 2026 and indicated that the card will be part of its global lineup for the GeForce RTX 50 series. Pricing and market availability details were not disclosed at the time of the announcement. Gigabyte stated that more information on regional availability and partner configurations will be shared closer to launch.
