Fujifilm announces GFX100RF fixed-lens digital camera with AI autofocus in India: Price, features and more

Fujifilm has launched the GFX100RF in India, the first fixed-lens digital camera in its GFX Series. Aimed at expanding access to large format photography, the GFX100RF features a 102-megapixel sensor, new image processing engine, and a compact body weighing just 735g. It combines portability with medium format quality and adds several firsts for the series, including a unique aspect ratio dial and a built-in ND filter.

The GFX100RF is priced at Rs 5,49,999 and will be available through authorised Fujifilm retailers across the country.

The GFX100RF features a 102-megapixel large format sensor and Fujifilm’s latest X-Processor 5 image processing engine. The fixed lens is a newly developed 35mm F4 unit (28mm equivalent in 35mm format), offering a wide field of view suitable for landscapes, travel, portraits, and everyday photography.

Weighing 735g, the GFX100RF is the lightest model in the GFX lineup. It includes a digital teleconverter, allowing users to switch between three focal lengths—45mm, 63mm, and 80mm—digitally. A built-in 4-stop neutral density (ND) filter, introduced in the GFX series, adds exposure control flexibility in bright conditions.

One of the key additions is the new “Aspect Ratio Dial,” a physical control that allows users to cycle through nine different aspect ratios, offering creative flexibility while shooting. The top plate and lens hood are precision-machined from aluminium for enhanced durability and design aesthetics.

The camera uses AI-based subject detection autofocus, capable of recognising and tracking subjects such as animals, vehicles, birds, and aircraft. For video creators, the GFX100RF can record 4K/30P footage with 10-bit colour depth, enabling high-quality output in various shooting scenarios. It also includes a leaf shutter supporting flash photography at any speed.

Bundled accessories include a protector filter, an adapter ring, a rope-style shoulder strap, and a metal lens hood. According to Fujifilm India, the GFX100RF is designed to help photographers explore large format photography without the bulk and complexity of interchangeable lens systems, making it suitable for professionals and enthusiasts alike.
