Srinivas recently revealed that the company has fine-tuned a version of Qwen3-30B to detect prompt-injection attacks by scanning raw HTML before user queries are processed. This update is part of Perplexity’s new BrowseSafe and BrowseSafe-Bench initiative, aimed at strengthening AI browsing safety.
Perplexity additionally shared an academic paper published on arXiv explaining the underlying research, highlighting a broader push toward creating more secure, transparent information tools.
