At CES 2025, Intel unveiled the Intel Core Ultra Series 2 processors, emphasising advancements in AI capabilities, efficiency, and edge computing. The announcement introduces new processors for businesses, creators, gamers, and edge applications, designed to enhance productivity, graphics, and computing performance.

The Intel Core Ultra 200V series targets business users, offering improved security, manageability, and compatibility features through the Intel vPro platform. These processors include enhanced battery life, AI productivity tools, and IT-friendly features such as cloud-based fleet management and advanced security measures.

Intel’s collaboration with Microsoft on the Copilot+ platform enables integration with Windows 11 for AI-driven productivity enhancements. Security capabilities include hardware-assisted mitigations validated by the MITRE ATT&CK framework and support for third-party firmware like Microsoft Pluton.

Performance for creators and gamers
The Intel Core Ultra 200HX and H series processors are tailored for creators and gaming enthusiasts. The HX series features up to 24 cores and integrated AI capabilities through built-in neural processing units (NPUs). These processors provide enhanced multi-thread performance, platform connectivity, and graphics processing with Intel Arc technology.

The H series includes up to 16 cores and offers integrated Intel Arc graphics with AI acceleration, delivering improved gaming performance. Select HX series processors also support overclocking options for fine-tuning compute and memory performance.

Edge computing solutions
Intel introduced a new suite of processors optimised for edge computing, highlighting the Core Ultra 200S and 200U series. These processors deliver enhanced performance for AI workloads, media processing, and analytics.

The Intel Core Ultra 9 processors offer significant gains in AI benchmarks, including tasks such as computer vision and stable diffusion. Compared to competing products, Intel claims improved performance in video analytics and media processing for edge applications.

Availability
Intel Core Ultra 200V series processors will be available from January 6, 2025, through online and retail channels. Systems powered by the Core Ultra 200H and U series will launch in February 2025, while HX series systems are expected later in the first half of the year.
