India is gearing up for its 79th Independence Day on August 15, 2025, and the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign is once again at the heart of the celebrations. This nationwide initiative invites citizens to hoist the Tiranga at their homes, fostering patriotism and a shared sense of national pride. The Ministry of Culture’s volunteer program is further expanding the campaign’s reach, while Self-Help Groups (SHGs) are playing a key role in flag production, empowering thousands of women.

Participating is simple and meaningful. The campaign portal lays it out in three easy steps:

1. Enter your details – Provide your name, mobile number, and country or state.

2. Click a picture hoisting the Tiranga – Capture the moment with you proudly holding the national flag.

3. Upload your selfie – Drag and drop your photo, browse to upload, or click a picture directly on the portal.

Participants will receive an official digital certificate and badge, recognizing them as Har Ghar Tiranga Ambassadors.

Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign details

Launched in 2022 under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, Har Ghar Tiranga has evolved from a formal act into a personal expression of unity and pride. The 2025 edition includes a volunteer program where participants help households hoist flags, distribute them, and promote selfie uploads from August 2, with top contributors honored nationally. Beyond patriotism, the initiative drives economic impact—60 lakh free flags in Uttar Pradesh are made by local Self-Help Groups, empowering 29,000 women. Nationwide, SHGs now produce most flags, reducing government supply from 7.5 crore in 2022 to 20 lakh in 2024, blending national pride with community upliftment.
