Canon has launched the RF28-70mm F2.8 IS STM, a new RF mount lens for its EOS R mirrorless camera system. This lens offers a constant f/2.8 aperture throughout the zoom range and is designed for both amateur and professional photographers, offering flexibility in a range of shooting scenarios.

The RF28-70mm F2.8 IS STM features a constant aperture of f/2.8, providing consistent exposure across the zoom range. Its built-in Optical Image Stabilizer allows users to capture sharp images, even in low light or when shooting handheld. When paired with cameras that have no In-Body Image Stabilizer (like the EOS R8), users can benefit from up to 5.5 stops of stabilization, while pairing it with bodies like the EOS R6 Mark II increases stabilization up to 7.5 stops.

Compact and lightweight at 495g, it is smaller than its professional-grade counterparts. The lens also offers weather sealing and durability while supporting Movie Digital IS for smooth handheld video footage. Paired with APS-C cameras, it provides an effective focal range of 44.8mm to 112mm.
