Krafton has started rolling out the Battlegrounds Mobile India (BGMI) 3.9 update, packed with new features, themed content, weapons, and social experiences. Rolled out in two parts, this update introduces a Transformers crossover, new weapons, Ranked Arena mode, a 3D social hub, and several performance and gameplay tweaks. Here’s everything you need to know.

What’s new in BGMI 3.9

The biggest addition is the Transformers collaboration, bringing Optimus Prime and Megatron into BGMI. Available on Erangel, Livik, and Sanhok maps in both ranked and unranked modes, the Neon Outpost cyberpunk zone features four interactive sub-areas: Arena, Black Market, Energy Plant, and Astro Den (melee-only). Players can collect Energon to unlock Optimus Prime or Megatron, each offering unique abilities and transformation mechanics. A special Duel Zone triggers when both Transformers meet, forcing a showdown.

The update also adds Anti-Gravity Spires, floating stone towers that launch players into a redeploy dive, offering fast movement across the map. New theme-only vehicles and items like the Cosmic Hoverboard, Starry Exhaust, and Bonk Bonk Hammer are also part of the limited-time content.

In Classic Mode, a new weapon, the ASM Abakan, joins the lineup. This 5.56mm AR supports full-auto, burst, and single-fire modes, with higher accuracy in its initial shots. Other enhancements include faster sprinting after med kit use, bike drifting with skid marks, and plane cabin interaction before matches. Multiple attachments like suppressors and compensators have been rebalanced.

Social features and community-driven content

The 3.9 update also adds a 3D Social Hub, unlocking at level 9. This interactive space includes the Central Plaza, Beach, Dance Stage, and more. Players can use exclusive emotes such as Hold Hands, Princess Carry, and Piggyback, along with mini-games like football and fireworks.

Ranked Arena Mode launches on July 24 and runs through September 2, featuring maps like Warehouse and Hangar. Players can climb from Bronze to Ace tier, earning rewards and a special title if they make it to the Top 1,000.

The Home System has been upgraded with the Arcadia Haven theme and a new Parking Lot feature that lets users park eight vehicles and earn tokens. A Blueprint Installment plan also lets players unlock items with flexible payments and a grace period—missed payments result in item removal.

The Popularity Battle returns from July 23 to August 22, where players compete for rewards using Popularity Crystals to unlock custom cards and backgrounds.

How to download BGMI 3.9 update

The BGMI 3.9 update is now available on both Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Players can head to their respective app stores and tap “Update” on the BGMI app listing. The update size may vary depending on the platform and device, so it is recommended to use a Wi-Fi connection.

Before downloading, players should ensure that they have sufficient storage space and battery. Once installed, restart the app to access all the new features.
