Apple has announced a sweeping set of accessibility upgrades coming later this year across iPhone, iPad, Mac, Apple Watch, and Apple Vision Pro—highlighting its ongoing mission to make technology more inclusive. Among the standout additions is the introduction of Accessibility Nutrition Labels on App Store pages, giving users a clear snapshot of an app’s accessibility features before download. These labels cover everything from VoiceOver to Reduced Motion and aim to empower users—especially those with disabilities—to make more informed app choices.
“Accessibility is part of our DNA,” said CEO Tim Cook. “We’re proud to be advancing innovations that let people explore the world, access information, and do what they love.”
Sarah Herrlinger, Apple’s head of Global Accessibility Policy and Initiatives, added that the new features build on four decades of accessibility efforts, and are powered by Apple silicon and machine learning for a more seamless experience.
Magnifier for MacOne major highlight is the arrival of Magnifier for Mac, which turns the computer into a powerful visual aid. It connects with USB or Continuity cameras, letting users zoom in on real-world content like whiteboards or documents. It integrates with a new Accessibility Reader, which can reformat physical text for easier reading, with adjustable fonts, spacing, and color options—a huge benefit for users with dyslexia or low vision.
Better Braille AccessApple is also launching Braille Access, transforming its devices into full-featured braille note takers. Users can take notes, open BRF files, and even perform math calculations with Nemeth Braille, making the feature ideal for classrooms and professionals alike. Live Captions can also be viewed on braille displays for real-time transcription.
Another key update brings Live Listen and Live Captions to the Apple Watch. Users can monitor conversations through their iPhone’s microphone and view real-time captions directly on their wrist—making meetings, classrooms, and group settings more accessible for those who are hard of hearing.
