Apple is reportedly planning to launch a new Mac Mini by the end of this year. According to a new report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman, the upcoming Mac Mini model could be launched in the coming months as the company's smallest version of the device, and will be powered by the M4 Pro and M4 chipsets.
This newly designed Mac Mini is expected to retain the same aluminium body as its predecessors. The report also revealed that the new device will be significantly more compact than its predecessor, with a size comparable to that of an Apple TV 4K box, which is 3.7 inches wide.
It is also expected to come with three USB C ports along with a regular power point and an HDMI port. There will also apparently be two versions of the Mac Mini, with the base model expected to be powered by the M4 chip, while the higher priced one has been tipped to run on the unannounced M4 Pro chip.
Apple’s M4 chipset was recently unveiled for the first time on the 2024 iPad Pro model, which is also the company's first tablet to be equipped with a two-stack 'Tandem OLED' display, and is one of the thinnest tablets.
There's no word on how much this upcoming Mac Mini M4 could cost. The current generation Mac Mini with the M3 chipset is priced at Rs. 59,999 for the base model with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of built-in storage.
