Apple has rolled out iOS 18.5 and iPadOS 18.5, the fifth official updates to its iOS 18 lineup, bringing modest improvements ahead of the big shift to iOS 19. The new software, carrying build number 22F76, arrives just over a month after iOS 18.4 and is available now via Settings > General > Software Update.
What’s new in iOS 18.5This update is relatively light on new features but still introduces some meaningful changes. Parents now get notified when a Screen Time passcode is used on a child’s device—adding an extra layer of accountability to digital wellbeing tools.
The update also brings:
•A new Pride Harmony wallpaper
•Buy with iPhone support when purchasing Apple TV content on third-party devices
•A fix for a black screen issue affecting the Apple Vision Pro app
•Carrier-provided satellite support for all iPhone 13 models
While small, the satellite support update could be critical for users relying on emergency connectivity.
Though Apple is gearing up to unveil iOS 19 and iPadOS 19 at WWDC in June, one more iOS 18 update is on the roadmap. iOS 18.6 will reportedly focus on expanding Apple Intelligence features to China, bringing generative AI tools to a much larger audience.
As always, some features in iOS 18.5 may be region- or device-dependent. Apple encourages users to check the official support page for a detailed look at the update’s security content.
