Apple has officially announced that its annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) will be held from June 9 to June 13, 2025. The event will be hosted online and is free for all developers. As always, WWDC aims to bring together the global Apple developer community for a week of announcements, technical sessions, and direct engagement with Apple’s engineers and designers.
Apple WWDC 2025: Time and date
The event kicks off with the Apple Keynote on June 9 at 10 AM PDT (10:30 PM IST), where Apple is expected to unveil the next major updates for its operating systems — iOS, iPadOS, macOS, watchOS, tvOS, and visionOS. This year, the focus is likely to be on developer tools and software innovation, with new features designed to enhance app experiences across the Apple ecosystem.
Following the keynote, the Platforms State of the Union will begin at 1 PM PDT, offering developers a closer look at the new tools and capabilities coming to Apple’s platforms. This session will also be available via Apple’s developer platforms and YouTube.
Over the course of the week, Apple will host more than 100 technical sessions, giving developers the opportunity to explore the latest frameworks and APIs. All content will be accessible through the Apple Developer app, website, and YouTube channel.
Developers enrolled in the Apple Developer Program or Apple Developer Enterprise Program can participate in live group labs and one-on-one sessions with Apple engineers and designers. These sessions will provide real-time support on topics such as machine learning, Swift, Apple Intelligence, and game development.
Apple will also host an in-person gathering for over 1,000 developers and students at Apple Park on the opening day. Additionally, winners of the Swift Student Challenge will attend a three-day experience at the Cupertino campus, with 50 distinguished participants being recognised for their outstanding submissions.
Apple WWDC 2025: What to expect
At WWDC 2025, Apple is expected to introduce major software updates across its ecosystem, including iOS 19, iPadOS 19, macOS 16, watchOS 12, tvOS 19, and visionOS 3. The spotlight is likely to remain on Apple Intelligence, the company’s suite of AI-powered features. While the event sometimes brings hardware announcements, there have been no credible reports suggesting new device reveals this year.
Leaks suggest Apple may limit its focus on Siri during the keynote, shifting more attention to enhancements in Apple Intelligence. Anticipated features include a smarter battery optimisation system and an AI-based virtual health assistant. Additionally, iOS 19 may bring support for alternative AI models, possibly allowing users to opt for Google’s Gemini instead of ChatGPT for Siri-related tasks.
Throughout the week-long event, developers will have access to more than 100 technical sessions where Apple engineers and designers will showcase the latest tools and capabilities. Apple also plans to host over 1,000 developers and students at a special in-person gathering at Apple Park on June 9.
