Apple has taken another step toward launching iOS 18.4 with the release of its fourth developer beta. The latest update, now available for testing — for both developers and public — brings several new features to iPhones and iPads. Public betas for iOS 18.4 and iPadOS 18.4 have also been made available for broader user feedback.
One of the key additions in iOS 18.4 is Visual Intelligence, an Apple Intelligence-powered visual search feature now accessible on the iPhone 15 Pro. With this update, users will be able to activate Visual Intelligence via the Control Center, Action button, or Shortcuts on iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro.
With iOS 18.4 beta, Apple is also introducing Priority Notifications, a feature designed to highlight the most important notifications in a dedicated section on the Lock Screen, making it easier to stay on top of crucial alerts.
Language support for Apple Intelligence has also expanded to include French, German, Italian, Portuguese (Brazil), Spanish, Japanese, Korean, and Simplified Chinese, along with localis ed English for Singapore and India.
Additionally, iOS 18.4 introduces a dedicated Vision Pro app, enabling users to manage their Vision Pro headset, download content, and control guest experiences directly from their iPhone.
One of the most anticipated updates is the addition of new emoji characters, marking the first emoji expansion in a year.
For Apple News+ subscribers, a new Food section has been added, offering curated food and cooking content. Meanwhile, Apple’s Image Playground now includes a Sketch style mode, allowing users to generate hand-drawn-style images.
