After launching its iPhone 16 series last month, Apple is set to end this year with a bang as the Cupertino-based tech giant is rumoured to introduce several upgrades with the new MacBook Pro model alongside the M4 chip. The company has already given us a detailed look at the latest M4 processor with the new iPad Pro devices, which were introduced earlier this year.
Earlier last month, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman confirmed that Apple will hold an October event this year to announce new iPads, including an updated iPad mini, along with the first Macs with the M4 series of chips. Now, according to a new report by 9to5Mac via Shrimp ApplePro, images of the packaging of the M4 MacBook Pro have surfaced online, revealing key details about the upcoming laptops.
The leaked packaging suggests that the new M4 MacBook Pro will have 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Additionally, the M4 chipset will have a 10-core CPU and 10-core GPU, as prior reports suggested. The M3 chip currently has an octa-core CPU and deca-core GPU.
At the rumoured October event, Apple is also expected to launch the new M4-powered 24-inch iMac. In addition to these devices, Apple may also update the iPad lineup at the event. We can expect updates coming to the entry-level iPads and the iPad Mini, which were last launched in 2021. Gurman has also confirmed that Apple is focusing on reducing production costs for its entry-level iPads, with fewer changes in design.
Many reports have suggested that the Apple launch could happen during the second or third week of October and the company could share the event teaser in the coming days.
