Apple has unveiled an all-new iPad Air with the powerful M2 chip at its Let Loose event. For the first time, the iPad Air will come in two sizes — 11-inch and 13-inch.
Price and availability
The new 11-inch and 13-inch iPad Air will be available in blue, purple, starlight, and space grey, with 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB configurations. The 11-inch iPad Air starts at Rs 59900 for the Wi-Fi model, and Rs 74900 for the Wi-Fi + Cellular model. The 13-inch iPad Air starts at Rs 79900 for the Wi-Fi model, and Rs 94900 for the Wi-Fi + Cellular model.
Customers can order the new iPad Air with M2 starting today, May 7, on Apple Online store. The iPad will be made available to customers starting May 15.
The highlight of the new iPad Air is the M2 processor, which powered the previous-generation iPad Pro. Apple says that M2 makes multitasking smoother and enhances. Apple claims the M2 chip delivers up to 50% faster performance compared to the previous generation iPad Air. The M2 chip brings another big boost in performance to iPad Air, featuring a faster 8-core CPU and 10-core GPU. With the vast ecosystem of apps that include advanced AI features, users can do things like use the Auto Enhance tool in Photomator, which improves photos with a single click using AI models, thanks to the M2 processor.
Users can choose the IPad Air between the familiar form factor of 11-inch or go for the 13-inch variant for more display real estate. The other big difference between the two models is that the 13-inch model boasts enhanced audio with landscape stereo speakers and richer bass.
The iPad Air 6 boasts faster Wi-Fi 6E connectivity and compatibility with the Apple Pencil hover feature, previously exclusive to the iPad Pro line. Also, the new iPad Air supports the all-new Apple Pencil Pro, which was also announced at the Let Loose event.
