Apple is finally adding a battery feature that Android users have enjoyed for years — the ability to see how long your iPhone will take to fully charge.
With iOS 26, your iPhone will now show an estimated time to full charge when it’s plugged in or placed on a wireless charger. Whether you're using a fast charger or a slow Qi charger, your phone will let you know exactly what to expect.
It might sound like a small update, but it’s a surprisingly useful one. If you're rushing out the door and wondering whether you have time to get a decent charge, this new feature takes out the guesswork. Just plug in your phone, and head over to the Battery section in the Settings app — or check the Lock Screen — to see how long it’ll take before your battery hits 100%.
This feature also gives you insight into your charger’s speed. If your iPhone tells you it's charging slowly, it might be time to switch cables or plugs — or just avoid relying on that 5W Qi charger.
While MacBooks used to show time remaining to a full charge, Apple quietly removed that option years ago. Now, with iOS 26, iPhones are getting a version of that same idea — something power users have been asking for.
Right now, the feature is available in the iOS 26 developer beta. Apple plans to roll it out to everyone later this fall, so regular users won’t have to wait too long.
It’s a small but thoughtful addition, and a sign that Apple is finally borrowing some of Android’s practical tricks to make everyday life just a little smoother.
