Broadcast partner JioStar has extended full support to the BCCI’s decision to suspend the ongoing TATA IPL 2025 for one week, citing national interest amid rising tensions between India and Pakistan.

“We, at JioStar, wholeheartedly support the BCCI’s decision to suspend the TATA IPL 2025 and stand firmly committed to prioritising national interest over all other considerations,” the company said in a statement issued Friday. “At this time, we must stand united with our country, support the government and our armed forces, and extend solidarity to the civilians affected.”

The broadcaster added that it would work closely with the BCCI and all stakeholders to ensure a seamless transition and the safe return of all personnel involved in the tournament broadcast. “We will work with the BCCI to bring back the tournament at an appropriate time,” JioStar said.

The BCCI officially announced that the IPL 2025 has been suspended for one week with immediate effect. In its statement, the board said the decision was made after consultations with all key stakeholders, including franchises, sponsors, and broadcasters, who conveyed the concerns of players and fans alike.

“The BCCI reposes full faith in the strength and preparedness of our armed forces. However, the Board considered it prudent to act in the collective interest of all stakeholders,” the statement added.

Further details regarding the revised schedule and venues will be shared after a comprehensive review of the situation in coordination with relevant authorities.

The decision comes against the backdrop of escalating cross-border tensions following the April 22 terror attack in Pahalgam, which killed over two dozen civilians. Multiple IPL franchises had raised concerns about the ongoing situation and its potential impact on players' safety and tournament logistics.
