The third Test between India and England at Lord's has witnessed a great battle between the bat and ball. Apart from this, the match has also witnessed plenty of chatter around the quality of Dukes ball and the aggression shown by players from both camps. In fact, India pacer Mohammed Siraj has been docked one demerit point and penalised 15 percent of his match fee for his fiery send-off to England opener Ben Duckett, which took place on Day 4.
Siraj, who has taken four wickets in the Test, was found guilty of breaching Article 2.5 of the International Cricket Council's Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which relates to "using language, actions or gestures which disparage or which could provoke an aggressive reaction from a batter upon his/her dismissal during an International Match".
"After the dismissal, Siraj celebrated close to the batter in his follow-through and made contact as Duckett began his walk back to the Lord's long room," the statement added.

However, former England pacer Stuart Broad finds the decision to penalise Siraj "ridiculous", pointing how Shubman Gill escaped the punishment despite swearing on live TV. “Find this ridiculous. Siraj 15% for aggressive celebration. Gill swears live on TV & carries on, and what? It’s either both or neither. Players aren’t and shouldn’t be robots, but consistency is key,” Broad wrote on X.

The incident which Broad referred to took place right before Stumps on Day 3. Then an agitated Gill made an obscene gesture at Zak Crawley, who resorted to time wasting tactic as Jasprit Bumrah led India's attack. Shortly after a good length ball also knocked Crawley's on his gloves, who immediately called for medical assistance. This intensified tension on the field as Gill charged at him and both engaged in a heated argument and pointed fingers at each other before Ben Duckett separated the duo.
