In yet another episode of social media outburst Mohammed Shami launched a brutal attack on ex-India cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar over his analysis on the pacer and his demand at the upcoming IPL auction, which is scheduled to be held on November 24-25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Shami was not at all happy with Manjrekar's assessment and didn't waste anytime to react to it.
The episode began with Manjrekar commenting on Shami's injury and how it may force the franchises to not invest heavily on the pacer. "There will definitely be interest from teams, but given Shami's injury history — and this recent one took a significant amount of time to recover — there's always a concern about a potential breakdown during the season," Manjrekar said on Star Sports. "If a franchise invests heavily and then loses him mid-season, their options become limited. This concern might lead to a drop in his price tag," he added.

However, Manjrekar's comments didn't sit well with Shami, who urged the ex-India cricketer to save some wisdom for his future. He also tried mocking Manjrekar by referring him as "Baba Ji". Shami did the same by sharing a story on Instagram, which had a screenshot of Manjrekar's analysis, below which he wrote: "Baba Ki Jay Hooooo. Thoda sa gyan apne futue ke liye bhi bacha lo kaam ayeaga Sanjy G. Kisi ko futue janna ho to sir se mile."
The statement by Shami in Hindi roughly translates to "save a little wisdom for your own future. If anyone wants to know their future, do contact 'baba ji'."

Meanwhile, this isn't the first time Shami has taken to social media to address posts and news reports related to him. Few months ago, Shami had called out news reports alleging that he took a dig at Amit Mishra, voicing his concern regarding the spread of misinformation about fellow player Mishra.
Disappointed to see false information circulating about Amit Mishra. It's humble request to verify news sources before publishing. Requesting @News24sportss to take down the story and issue a correction. @MishiAmit @shubhankrmishra #StopFakeNews #Cricket pic.twitter.com/dlD5n6Qed1 (@MdShami11) July 20, 2024
Why these type of baseless rumors? I'm working hard and trying my level best to recover. Neither the BCCI nor me have mentioned that I am out of the Border Gavaskar series. I request the public to stop paying attention to such news from unofficial sources. Please stop and dont pic.twitter.com/0OgL1K2iKS

In another recent example of social media explosion, Shami had called out news reports of him developing a swollen knee, which may force him out of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Despite his explosive tweet Shami failed to make the cut for the Border-Gavaskar Trophy.
But now with Shami returning to competitive cricket and creating an impact in his first Ranji Trophy outing there have been murmurs of him being flown to Australia. It'll be interesting to see if the management risks the pacer for the Test series, which gets underway from November 22 in Perth. As of now Shami is in India and the management has indicated they won't rush to any decision, allowing the pacer substantial time before recalling him in the international circuit.
