Sunrisers Hyderabad secured a dominant 36-run victory over Rajasthan Royals, earning their place in the 2024 Indian T20 League final. Finishing in the top two of the group stages proved advantageous for Hyderabad, providing them with a crucial second chance.

Rajasthan, who had faltered at the end of the group stage, repeated their mistakes in this encounter, allowing Hyderabad to bounce back from their Qualifier 1 defeat with a strong performance.

Hyderabad's pace attack began well, restricting and eventually dismissing Tom Kohler-Cadmore. However, the decision to introduce Bhuvneshwar Kumar for an additional Powerplay over backfired, putting them under some pressure. Despite lacking frontline spinners, Pat Cummins relied on Impact Substitute Shahbaz Ahmed to lead in the middle overs. Ahmed delivered a significant performance, taking three wickets, while Abhishek Sharma took two, effectively controlling the game—a task Cummins managed well as captain.

Rajasthan will be disappointed by this loss, feeling they squandered an opportunity after a strong league stage performance. Sanju Samson led admirably, but it wasn't enough.
