KKR mentor Gautam Gambhir praised RCB for their fighting spirit in the thrilling match in Kolkata on April 21. Before the game, Gambhir was seen chatting with Virat Kohli, showing the friendly rapport between the two. KKR had to dig deep to secure the win against a determined RCB team.
Karn Sharma's late fireworks with three sixes off Mitchell Starc in the final over almost gave RCB the win, but Starc's resilience helped KKR secure a 1-run victory. Gambhir congratulated RCB on X for their perseverance during the match.

In an IPL match, KKR scored 222 runs in 20 overs, with strong performances from Shreyas Iyer and Phil Salt. Despite Narine's off day with the bat, Andre Russell, Ramandeep Singh, and Rinku Singh helped boost the total. RCB's innings began controversially when Virat Kohli was dismissed unexpectedly.
Will Jacks and Rajat Patidar seemed to shift the game in RCB's favour until Andre Russell turned the match around by dismissing both in one over. Sunil Narine followed by taking Cameron Green and Mahipal Lomror's wickets in the next over, giving KKR the upper hand. Russell then returned to dismiss Dinesh Karthik, sealing RCB's fate. KKR's victory pushed them to the second spot on the points table, while RCB remained at the bottom with just 2 points from 8 matches. RCB faces Hyderabad on April 25, while KKR hosts PBKS on April 26.
