The standards are always quite high when you're Rishabh Pant.  For nothing, the Lucknow Super Giants spent ₹27 crore in the mega auction, the most of any club in IPL history.

Pant is one of the few players who consistently brings the excitement of T20 batting to Test cricket. Fans have little choice but to scratch their heads when the same batsman, for whatever reason, finds it difficult to sustain a particular strike rate in Twenty20 cricket.

Pant's IPL 2025 start has been even poorer than his career T20 strike rate of 127. However, that couldn't be the cause of TV hosts' outbursts, can it? False!

During a live broadcast, a sports presenter from a well-known Indian Sports YouTube channel threw objects at a TV screen and pushed the glass table in front of him, damaging studio equipment because he was dissatisfied with Pant's IPL 2025 performance.

Pant hit run-a-ball 15 in the second match against Sunrisers Hyderabad after recording a six-ball duck in LSG's IPL 2025 opener against his old team, the Delhi Capitals.

His innings had little bearing on the result of the game because Nicholas Pooran and Mitchell Marsh's blazing runs put LSG well ahead of the asking rate. But his admirers are deeply hurt by Pant's difficulties on calm batting decks.

Pant had the lowest striker rate of any batter who reached double digits in the SRH vs. LSG game in Hyderabad. He has hit just a six no fours in the 21 balls he has faced so far in the 18th season of the IPL.

Furthermore, despite controlling the majority of the game, Pant’s captaincy and wicketkeeping were held accountable for LSG's unexpected loss to DC.

Although Pant is still far from his best, LSG did mount a formidable comeback against SRH, defeating them handily by five wickets and 23 balls remaining.

One host lost his temper when talking about the LSG captain's performance. In a fit of fury, he almost knocked over a glass table and shattered the TV screen.

"IPL is going on. He (Rishabh Pant) had his chance but I'm telling you, he has become predictable. You cannot trust him. What sort of a captain is he? We don't need a captain like him," before throwing objects at the TV screen.
