India Test captain Shubman Gill is in sublime form, and has now joined the legendary Virat Kohli in an elite list after crossing 500-run mark in the ongoing Test series against England on Saturday (July 5). Kohli had multiple records as most runs from an Indian skipper in his debut series and also the highest score from a skipper. However, Gill, who took over the reins from Rohit Sharma, rewrote the record books by smashing 269 runs in the first innings of the second Test, surpassing Kohli’s unbeaten 254 t against South Africa in Pune in 2019.
