A massive crowd gathered at Mumbai’s Marine Drive to celebrate Team India’s Victory Parade after their T20 World Cup 2024 win. Fans from all walks of life danced and cheered amidst chants of “India, India,” showcasing the nation’s deep passion for cricket. The streets were lined with supporters eager to see the trophy and their favourite players. In a display of extreme enthusiasm, one fan scaled a tree to get a better view.
Players were surprised when Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and others noticed a man perched on a tree, clicking pictures. Kohli spotted him first and promptly alerted Rohit. The Indian captain, accustomed to such incidents, tried to get the man to come down, but he remained unmoved, much to Kohli's amusement. The incident, captured on video, quickly went viral on social media, gaining widespread attention.

Rohit Sharma and his team, on the team bus, acknowledged the crowd with waves and cheers as they headed to the Wankhede Stadium. The stadium event was open to the public on a first-come, first-served basis.
The team had been delayed in Barbados due to Hurricane Beryl and was brought home on a charter flight. They first met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi before arriving in Mumbai. Despite heavy rain and congested routes, fans welcomed the players with enthusiasm. Students, office-goers, children, and families all participated in the Victory Parade.
On June 29, India defeated South Africa by 7 runs in the final match of the T20 World Cup 2024 at the Kensington Oval in Barbados.
