With just minutes left for liftoff, NASA and SpaceX called off the Crew-10 mission. The delay means astronauts Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore remain at the International Space Station. The launch is now expected on March 14.
Launch Halted Due to Hydraulic System Issue
The Crew-10 mission was scheduled to take off from Florida. It was meant to carry four astronauts to the ISS. Their arrival would have allowed Williams and Wilmore to return home. However, a hydraulic issue forced NASA and SpaceX to postpone the launch.
Officials stated the problem was linked to a ground support clamp arm. This component is crucial for the Falcon 9 rocket at Launch Complex 39A. The new launch window is set for 7:03 p.m. EDT on March 14 (4:33 a.m. IST, March 15).

NASA also cited weather concerns as another factor. High winds and precipitation along the flight path added risks. Crew-10 astronauts safely exited the Dragon spacecraft after the delay. The Falcon 9 rocket remains secure at the Kennedy Space Center.
Impact on Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore
Williams and Wilmore have been at the ISS since June 2024. They arrived on the Boeing Starliner for a short mission. However, technical issues kept them in orbit far longer than planned.
NASA had hoped for a swift replacement of the ISS crew. This would have helped conserve essential supplies aboard the station. If all goes well, the Crew-10 mission will proceed as scheduled. Williams and Wilmore could return to Earth by March 19.
