A joyful canine record‑break just unfolded in Buenos Aires. In the city’s Bosques de Palermo park, 2,397 Golden Retrievers were gathered. The organisers believe the event surpassed the previous record of 1,685 dogs. The gathering turned the park into a vibrant sea of golden fur.

A Record-Breaking Gathering

The organisers counted every dog on site. Volunteers with clipboards recorded each arrival. By the end of the day, they declared the final tally. About 2,397 retrievers were gathered in the park, surpassing the previous gathering record of 1,685.

Many dogs wore festive outfits such as Santa hats, sports jerseys, bandanas. This added colour to the joyous crowd. Dog owners spread out blankets, sipped traditional yerba mate and shared stories about their pets.

Heartwarming Moments and Calm Vibes

Despite the sheer number of dogs, the atmosphere was calm and friendly. Families posed for selfies with their pets. Children laughed and greeted steady streams of wagging tails.

“Since we were children, she’s been a constant presence in our family. We’ve had vacations with her. We’ve done everything together,” said Nicolás Orellana.

The Man who Organized the “Golden Wave”

The event was organised by Fausto Duperré, a 28‑year‑old Argentine actor and social‑media influencer. He is known for publicly sharing his life with his 10‑year-old Golden Retriever, "Oli" which helped him build a following among fellow retriever lovers.

Duperré announced the successful gathering on social media, calling it “historic” and expressing emotion and overwhelming gratitude.

Why This Gathering Captured Global Attention?

The event highlights the special bond between pets and people worldwide. It turned into a social phenomenon of joy, community and record‑breaking energy. This event also challenged the assumptions about managing large‑scale pet gatherings peacefully. For many, it was more than a meetup. This gathering became a celebration of companionship.
