TTD, May 2025: The sacred hill town of Tirumala is all set to welcome thousands of devotees this May, as the Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has announced an enriching lineup of religious festivals and spiritual observances. From honoring revered saints to celebrating divine marriages and incarnations, the month will be packed with significant events that hold deep cultural and spiritual meaning.
May 1 – Ananthalwar Utsavam
The month begins with the Ananthalwar Utsavam on May 1, commemorating the service and devotion of Ananthalwar, the ardent disciple of Sri Ramanujacharya. Special rituals will be performed near the Ananthalwar Gardens, located adjacent to the main temple, remembering his contributions to temple service and Vaishnavism.
May 2 – Bhashyakarla Sattumora, Ramanuja Jayanti & Adi Shankara Jayanti
A unique spiritual confluence will occur on May 2, as Tirumala observes three major events:
Bhashyakarla Sattumora – A tribute to Sri Ramanujacharya, the spiritual giant who propagated Vishishtadvaita philosophy.
Ramanuja Jayanti – Celebrating the birth anniversary of Sri Ramanujacharya with rituals and spiritual discourses.
Adi Shankara Jayanti – Honoring Adi Shankaracharya, the proponent of Advaita Vedanta.
TTD will organize Vedic recitations, spiritual lectures, and ceremonial offerings in honor of both acharyas, marking a rare and harmonious celebration of India’s diverse philosophical heritage.

One of the grand highlights of the month is the Padmavathi Srinivasa Parinayotsavam, a celestial wedding festival that re-enacts the divine union of Lord Srinivasa and Goddess Padmavathi. Scheduled for May 6, this beautiful event will take place at Narayanagiri Gardens, away from the main temple. The serene setting and vibrant rituals are expected to draw large crowds of devotees and pilgrims.
May 12 – Kurma Jayanti and Garuda Seva
Kurma Jayanti, which celebrates Lord Vishnu’s second incarnation as a tortoise (Kurma), falls on May 12. Devotees will also witness Garuda Seva on the same day—a revered weekly ritual where the processional deity of Lord Malayappa is paraded through the Mada Streets on the majestic Garuda Vahanam. This event, marked by chants and devotional fervor, is always a spiritual highlight in Tirumala.
May 22 – Hanuman Jayanti
The religious observances for the month will conclude with Hanuman Jayanti on May 22, celebrating the birth of Lord Hanuman, the symbol of strength, devotion, and unwavering faith. Special pujas, Abhishekams, and Vedic ceremonies will be held at the Bedi Anjaneya Swamy Temple, located right opposite the Tirumala main shrine.
With such a vibrant calendar of events, May 2025 promises to be a spiritually enriching month for all who visit Tirumala. Devotees are encouraged to participate in the rituals and seek divine blessings during these sacred occasions.
