Note: Navratri Parana refers to the ritual of breaking the nine-day-long Navratri fast. Scriptures give two views on Parana timing—some advice completing it within Navami Tithi, while others recommend performing it only after Navami Tithi ends, and Dashami Tithi begins.

Navratri Parana Traditions

In many households, Kanya Puja (Kumari Puja) is performed on Maha Ashtami or Maha Navami, after which devotees break their fast. Some traditions observe fasting only on the first and last days of Navratri, while others follow the complete nine days.
