Rama Lakshmana Dwadashi is celebrated on the twelfth day, known as Dwadashi, during the waxing phase of the moon in the month of Jyestha according to the Hindu calendar. This day is dedicated to Lord Rama and his brother Lakshmana. It is believed by devotees that King Dasharatha performed observances on this day to receive the boon of a son, who was none other than Lord Rama.
