Importance of Margashirsha Purnima Vrat
Purnima is considered the most divine lunar phase. Scriptures like Skanda Purana, Padma Purana, Narada Purana and Mahabharata mention that this vrat destroys sins and blesses devotees with happiness, progeny, and good fortune. It is also called Dvatrimshi Purnima Vrat and is said to be especially fruitful for worshipping Lord Vishnu and Lord Chandra. Observing this vrat purifies the mind and enhances devotion.
Sankshipta Puja Vidhi
The vrat is typically concluded after Moon worship in the evening. Before breaking the fast, devotees donate ghee, sesame, rice, clothes or food to Brahmins as per their capability. After offering food and dakshina to a Brahmin, the devotee may eat fruits or light sattvic food.
