Kailash Mansarovar Yatra 2025 to Begin in June: Pilgrims Gear Up for Sacred Journey

Kailash Mansarovar Yatra 2025: The highly awaited Kailash Mansarovar Yatra 2025 is scheduled to begin in June and continue till August, as announced by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). This annual pilgrimage to the holy Mount Kailash and Mansarovar Lake, revered by Hindus, Buddhists, Jains, and Bon followers, draws thousands of spiritual seekers from across the country and abroad.

Applications Received for Yatra 2025

This year, a total of 5,561 pilgrims successfully registered for the yatra through the official portal — https://kmy.gov.in. The registered list includes 4,024 men and 1,537 women. Out of these, 750 Yatris have been selected to undertake the journey. The selection process was done through a computerised random draw, ensuring fairness and gender balance. The Minister of State for External Affairs, Kirti Vardhan Singh, personally oversaw the draw.

Helpline Details

All selected Yatris are notified via SMS and email. Additionally, they can check their selection status by logging into the official Kailash Mansarovar Yatra website or contacting the MEA helpline at 011-23088133.

Two Routes

Pilgrims will travel in batches via two fully motorable routes:

  • Lipulekh Route: 5 batches, 50 Yatris each
  • Nathu La Route: 10 batches, 50 Yatris each

Each batch will also include two Liaison Officers (LOs). Since both routes are now completely motorable, the journey involves minimal trekking, making it more accessible to senior citizens and others who may not be comfortable with strenuous travel.

Government’s Focus: Accessibility, Safety & Transparency

Minister Kirti Vardhan Singh emphasized the steps taken by the government to enhance the Yatra experience. These include:

  • Making the process transparent and digital
  • Improving safety measures for Yatris
  • Enhancing accessibility for people from all walks of life

He encouraged pilgrims to undertake the sacred journey with humility, mutual respect, and environmental awareness, maintaining the sanctity of the pilgrimage and caring for fellow Yatris.
