Poonch, Jammu & Kashmir: The third batch of the Budha Amarnath Yatra 2025 reached Poonch on Thursday, receiving a warm and traditional welcome from local residents and officials. Despite challenging weather conditions, the yatra arrangements were widely appreciated by devotees, with many expressing gratitude to the Indian Army, local administration, and the people of Poonch for ensuring a smooth and secure pilgrimage.
Pilgrims arriving from various parts of the country, especially Rajasthan, lauded the excellent hospitality and security provided along the route. Devotee Usha Tripathi, visiting for the first time, shared her joy, stating, "The arrangements are excellent. The unity among Hindus seen here is truly inspiring. Even in bad weather, the Indian Army ensured our safety. I want to come every year and bring more people with me." She also acknowledged the origins of the Yatra, mentioning that the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) initiated the Budha Amarnath Yatra in 2005, and since then, the spiritual journey has grown in strength and participation.
Traditional Welcome and Growing Participation
Pandit Gopal Krishan, a VHP member, confirmed the arrival of the third batch and highlighted that most devotees this time were from Rajasthan. "We welcomed the yatris with full tradition in Poonch. They were happy and promised to return next year with even larger groups." Another pilgrim, Hanuman Chaudhary, described the journey as exciting and called for more people to join in the spiritual experience. "This Yatra is deeply fulfilling. The arrangements are outstanding, and we are enjoying every moment."
