Significance of Choti Diwali

Choti Diwali holds immense religious and spiritual significance, especially in Hindu households. It is believed that by performing Abhyang Snan (holy bath) on this day before sunrise, individuals can purify themselves from sins and attain prosperity. This ritual bath is followed by offerings to Lord Krishna, symbolizing the defeat of evil.

In many parts of India, women also observe Roop Chaudas. Rituals like applying oils and ubtan (herbal paste) signify the inner and outer cleansing before Diwali. The evening of Narak Chaturdashi is marked with lighting diyas (lamps) to ward off darkness and evil forces.
