FICA gets Forbes award

Foundation for Indian Contemporary Art (FICA) was bestowed with the ‘Not-for-Profit Art Initiative of the Year’ at the inaugural Forbes India Art Awards 2014. FICA, a not-for-profit foundation that encourages and supports innovative work in the field of the visual arts, has been recognized for outstanding initiatives to the art world in the areas of outreach, education, residencies, research, grants and any other activity that promotes the cause of Indian art either in India or globally. The Forbes India Art Awards is, in large part aimed at identifying new and emerging talent in the art world. The jury for the awards comprised of Lekha Poddar, chairperson of Devi Art Foundation; Kiran Nadar, founder and chairperson of Kiran Nadar Museum of Art, Shivinder Mohan Singh, executive vice chairman, Fortis Healthcare and Ranjit Hoskote, independent cultural theorist, art writer and critic.
