Scientists at Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory have figured a way to simulate asteroid defense using nukes, which they call ‘nuclear ablation’. This comes after NASA launched its DART mission last year. The first-ever mission dedicated towards changing an asteroid’s motion in space.
