Venugopal Dhoot, chairman and managing director of Videocon Industries says that the consumer durables market has been expanding and the industry is expected to grow 15% this month. “It appears that 75 bps cut in CRR might give some interest rate reduction and also money flow so that consumers will start buying on finance basis,” he says.

Industrial output numbers for June has beaten street expectations coming in at 8.8%. However, the growth of 1.3% in consumer durables is very poor compared to 5.2% the last month.
In an interview with CNBC-TV18, Venugopal Dhoot, CMD, Videocon said the company’s board of directors has made a committee and that committee will take a decision on demerger. He expects the decision to take place in the next quarter.
