A 60-year-old woman survived miraculously after being accidentally thrown into a garbage truck and compacted multiple times with the area's trash in Manchester, New Hampshire. The incident, which left both residents and onlookers in shock, unfolded on Beech Hill Drive on a seemingly routine Monday afternoon.
The woman, whose identity remains undisclosed, was reportedly thrown into the truck from a dumpster. The garbage compacting process occurred up to four times before the driver spotted the woman through a camera in the vehicle.
According to reports by Boston 25 News, the horrifying incident caught the attention of residents when frantic screams echoed from inside the compactor.
The rescue operation involved firefighters using a basket suspended by a fire truck crane to extract the woman from the dire situation. The woman communicated to firefighters through a side access panel, revealing that she had inadvertently fallen into the dumpster while disposing of trash.
However, due to her disoriented state, she could not provide further details about the incident.
The woman was transported to the hospital in a serious condition. Questions linger about the duration she spent in the dumpster before being thrust into the compactor and further investigations are on.
