Dry weather is expected to continue over major parts of northwest plain and central India during the next few days. Afternoon hours in these regions will be very warm with mercury hovering around mid-thirties due to westerly winds coming from Thar Desert.

However, morning and evening hours will be comfortable as winds from hills coming in as northwesterly will soothe you. Weather in west Rajasthan will remain very hot under the influence of direct westerly.

Rain will decrease over east Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand as the cyclonic circulation is likely to weaken. But the north-south trough from Himalayan foothills to the Bay of Bengal will be instrumental in bringing in light to moderate rain over West Bengal and Sikkim.

The eastern end of monsoon trough (region of intensified moist winds) continues to remain along the foothills of Himalayas.

Due to this, monsoon will remain active over Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya. Moderate to heavy rain will continue to be witnessed at a few places during the next two to three days.

In southern Peninsula, northwesterly to westerly winds and southerly to southeasterly winds will continue to collide to form a trough from Rayalaseema to south Tamil Nadu. Under the aegis of this weather system, south interior Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu will get rain. Temperatures in these areas will remain above normal due to light rain.
