In a tale that's as refreshing as their famous brew, Mitchell Brewing Co's 'Osama Bin Lager' has skyrocketed to fame, selling out faster than a round of cheers at their bustling pub in Billinghay, Lincolnshire.
Described as the brewery's "most popular production," 'Osama Bin Lager' boasts a light, citrus-infused flavour that has beer enthusiasts buzzing with excitement. Co-owners Luke and Catherine Mitchell have found themselves in a whirlwind of activity, unplugging phones and closing their website temporarily to manage the overwhelming demand.
"We've woken up the last couple of mornings with thousands and thousands and thousands of notifications," Mitchell told the BBC. "It's been crazy. The phone just hasn't stopped for the last 48 hours," his wife added.
But it's not just about the beer — it's about the laughter and camaraderie that fill their pub as patrons enjoy sips of Kim Jong Ale, Putin Porter, and of course, the viral sensation that is named after the Al-Qaeda leader who was killed in 2011. "They're all tongue-in-cheek names – a nicer outlook on some horrible dictators," Mitchell said.
Pictures of the beer were also posted on Instagram by the brewery. "Everyone laughs when they see the names on the bar," Mitchell added.
While the names may raise eyebrows, the Mitchells were quick to highlight their charitable efforts. For every barrel of 'Osama Bin Lager' sold, GBP 10 goes towards supporting victims of the 9/11 terrorist attacks. "As far as I'm aware, no one's been offended, but I'm sure there is someone out there," Mitchell further quoted to the outlet.
