Ricciardo happy to make way for Karthikeyan in Indian GP

Daniel Ricciardo has no issues in leaving his Hispania racing seat for Narain Karthikeyan the inaugural Indian Grand Prix as the Australian says he is happy to just be a part of the excitement at the new Formula One venue.

Karthikeyan drove for Hispania in the first half of the season before being replaced by Ricciardo but the Indian was assured a racing seat for his home Grand Prix.

"I am not sure 100% sure what's happening but at least I will be driving in the practice session and I am always excited when on F1 track. When it's (making space of Narain) part of the deal and agreement, you follow it," Ricciardo told PTI.

"I still have lot of races left in the season and you look forward to many more things when you do not race. You look for support of the fans. It's always exciting to go to new venue and see the track," the Red Bull-supported Australian racer, added.

Ricciardo was here in the capital for the announcement of Red Bull's tie up with Big Bazaar, one of the leading retail outlets in India, for the October 30 race at Buddh International circuit in Greater Noida.

The 22-year-old racer, was named as Test and reserve driver of Toro Rosso, the sister team of Red Bull, but later joined Hispania for the second half of the 2011 season.

"It (moving to Hispania) came as a bit of shock to me but I am happy driving in F1. It was all organised by Red Bull," he said.

Ricciardo also dismissed speculation that he would join Toro Rosso in the 2012 season, saying, that "All this is rumour."
