Actor Salman Khan, known for his larger-than-life persona and unflinching stance, did not hold back in a conversation with Ashneer Grover, the former Shark Tank India judge and Bharat Pe co-founder. The much-awaited Weekend Ka Vaar episode of Bigg Boss 18 shows a clip of a face-off between the two as Khan confronted Grover over his statement about the Bollywood superstar regarding an old brand ambassador deal signed between his former company and the actor.

In a clip from the episode, Salman Khan is seen addressing Ashneer Grover directly on stage, pointing out discrepancies in the remarks the latter made about him during a podcast appearance.

"I have heard you say some things about me," Salman begins in Hindi, referencing Grover’s podcast statements. "You said, ‘we signed him for this much money’. That figure you have mentioned is wrong. Toh phir yeh dogalapan kya hai? (So, what is this double standard?),” Khan said referring to Grover’s famous ‘doglapan’ term, that gained virality after his stint as a judge on Shark Tank India’s first season.

Grover, who initially seemed to backtrack, defended his position. "I think that was one of the smartest moves I made (signing you as a brand ambassador),” Grover responds. But Khan, undeterred, retorts sharply, “Lekin jis hisaab se ab aap baat kar rahe hain, woh jo maine aapka video dekha hai, yeh aapka attitude wahan par nahi tha" (But the way you're talking now, it wasn't the same attitude in that video I saw).

The tension escalates when Khan reveals that, despite being aware of Grover’s podcast, he was unaware of his name until the announcement of his guest appearance on the show.

“I just got to know that you are coming here. I did not know your name also. Since I had seen your video, I recognised your face. I think you should be careful about how you present yourself,” Salman Khan added.

Grover, attempting to clarify his stance, mutters, “Maybe in the podcast, it didn’t come across correct,” acknowledging the apparent misunderstanding. Khan maintains, "Lekin jaese yeh hai, yeh barabar aa raha hai" (The way you're speaking now is correct).

The controversial statements in question were originally made during Grover's appearance on the Vagehra Vagehra podcast in 2023. During the episode, Grover recounted an encounter with Salman Khan, claiming that he had been refused a photo with the actor, despite being a sponsor for the shoot.

Grover expressed his frustration, recalling how Salman’s manager allegedly instructed him not to take a photo with the actor, citing Salman’s discomfort with such gestures. “Bhaad mein jaa tu, aisi kaunsi heropanti hogayi (Go to hell, what are these starry tantrums),” Grover had said, adding a colourful remark in his signature no-nonsense style.

Fintech firm BharatPe reached a settlement Ashneer Grover in September, ending years of acrimonious legal battles and public disputes between the two parties after his unceremonious ouster from the company over financial mismanagement.

The controversial investor has since made several public appearances and founded Third Unicorn and a fantasy gaming platform called CrickPe in 2023.
