Prime Minister Narendra Modi, on Saturday, paid a surprise visit at the home of Mera Manjhi while he was in Ayodhya. Manjhi is the 10th crore beneficiary of the Ujjwala Yojana.

The Prime Minister also had tea with her family and shared pictures from his official handle on X. “The experience of visiting sister Meera Manjhi's house in the city of Lord Shri Ram has become unforgettable!” read the caption of the post, roughly translated in English.

A separate tweet carried a video featuring PM Modi having a conversation with Manjhi and members of her family. They all talked over tea. Manjhi was heard talking about the benefits that she received through the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana.

“'Tea pe charcha' was held at the house of sister Meera ji, the 10 croreth beneficiary of Ujjwala Yojana, with her family members in Ayodhya. During this time, I felt very satisfied to know how government schemes have made the life of the entire family easier,” the caption of the post read.

PM Modi described Manjhi’s tea as “good, but a little too sweet.” A statement by the Uttar Pradesh government mentioned that the programme at the beneficiary’s house was not scheduled in advance.

Meanwhile, PM Modi was in Ayodhya to inaugurate the Maharshi Valmiki Airport and the revamped Ayodhya Dham railway station.
