India will witness a partial lunar eclipse on October 28-29, which will be visible across the country around midnight. The eclipse succeeds the solar eclipse on October 14, which was not visible in India.
The eclipse will be visible in several countries that cover the West Pacific region such as Asia, Australia, Africa, Europe, north–eastern North America, eastern South America, South Pacific Ocean and the Indian Ocean.

Where and how to watch?
As per DD news, the lunar eclipse will begin at 11:31 pm on October 28 and end at 3:36 am on October 29. The eclipse will be visible from the southwestern side of the sky for those living in New Delhi. The moon will pass through the Earth's shadow between 1:06 am and 2:23 am.
This will be the second lunar eclipse seen after a penumbral eclipse that was witnessed on May 5. The last total lunar eclipse visible from India occurred on November 8, 2022.
What happens during a lunar eclipse?
A lunar eclipse takes place when the Earth comes between the Sun and the Moon which causes a shadow of the planet to fall on the Moon's surface.
The difference between a partial eclipse and a total eclipse is that in the case of the former, a portion of the Moon appears darkened while in the latter the Moon turns red.
As per the Press Information Bureau, the next lunar eclipse visible from India on September 7 2025 and it would be a total lunar eclipse.
