Nokia 9.1 with a better camera, Android Q launching in Q4 2019

Nokia 9.1 would see significant improvement in the camera department, especially in low-light and video recording.

July 30, 2019 / 13:31 IST

Nokia recently launched the Nokia 9 PureView in India for Rs 49,990. The company is now reportedly working on the next generation of its flagship that would feature a better camera and run on Android Q.

According to NokiaPowerUser, Nokia would launch the Nokia 9.1 PureView in Q4 of 2019. HMD Global was rumoured to launch the Nokia flagship device during Q3 2019 but decided to postpone due to some unresolved issues.

The report adds that the smartphone would see significant improvement in the camera department, especially in low-light and video recording. HMD Global would continue its partnership with Light for the camera technology.

Further, to assist these camera improvements, there would be a ‘better processor’ and software tweaks with the help of Light. The report mentions that Nokia 9.1 would feature a Snapdragon 855 SoC and run on Android Q out of the box. With the use of the latest Snapdragon SoC, Nokia 9.1 could also support 5G-connectivity.

Other speculations include a punch-hole display that was also seen on the Nokia X71 launched in China.

There is no confirmation from HMD Global about the speculations as mentioned above.

In related news, Nokia is rumoured to launch the Nokia 6.2 and 7.2 in India next month. Both handsets are rumoured to receive a significant bump in specs from their predecessors the Nokia 6.1 and 7.1.
