The post quickly gained traction, with users across platforms expressing disbelief and criticism.

A LinkedIn post by Stacey Champagne, the founder and CEO of Hacker in Heels, has ignited a heated debate online after she publicly criticised her husband for what she described as his lack of achievements in 2024. The post, which highlighted her own career milestones while labelling her husband’s accomplishments as “zero,” left many social media users shocked and baffled.

In the now-viral post, Champagne detailed her own success over the past year, including certifications, career advancements, and accolades, juxtaposing them against her husband’s supposed lack of similar achievements.

She wrote: “I had multiple clear-cut career accomplishments in 2024. My husband? Zero. No certifications. No college courses completed. No documentary features. No awards.”

She recounted a conversation at the dinner table where she questioned how her husband could go an entire year without pursuing professional or academic achievements. “How do you do that?! How are you able to go through a whole year without doing any of these sorts of things and be OK?” she asked.

When her husband did not provide an answer, Champagne remarked that his response left her with “so much to unpack.” She then posed a question to her LinkedIn audience: “Could you go a year without a single new certification, interview, award, promotion and be OK with yourself for it?”

The post quickly gained traction, with users across platforms expressing disbelief and criticism, questioning why Champagne felt compelled to publicly highlight her husband’s perceived shortcomings. In response to the uproar, Champagne’s husband, Jesse Sciuto, stepped in to clarify the intent of her post.

Taking to LinkedIn himself, Sciuto explained: “The point of Stacey’s post is that she approves of my lack of quals/certs and wishes she could reach my level of zen.”

He detailed his accomplishments, noting that he is a dual warfare-qualified Navy veteran with a STEM Master’s degree who has already met all qualifications for his current rank. Sciuto further stated that he spent 2024 focusing on adjusting to a new job, improving his fitness, and pursuing hobbies such as cooking.

“I’m the most content I have ever been,” he said, adding that his structured approach to life, with clear manuals and checklists, contrasts with his wife’s competitive and fast-paced career.

Despite Sciuto’s defence, many users were unconvinced, criticising the original post for its tone and intent. One user wrote, “Found this on X and thought it was a fake. Still not convinced this person and her alleged husband are even real.”

Others accused Champagne of seeking attention at her husband’s expense. “Some people would—quite literally—sell their soul (or their family) for clicks and likes on the internet,” commented another.

A few took a more humorous approach. “From your post about your husband, I learned that the key to a successful marriage is building a successful B2B SaaS business. I plan to apply that to my next marriage,” one user quipped.

Another user wrote, “I knew I had left something off my To-Do list this week… publicly humiliate my spouse on LinkedIn. I’ll get right on it.”
